Rise and Fall, Chapter 14: Shane

Last time on Rise and Fall, a funeral was held for a character I didn’t care about, and Shane was forced to reveal his real spirit animal. What is he bonded to? Find out after the cut.

Abeke stepped back, astonished. The tattoo of a giant beast stretched across Shane’s chest, riding the hollow of his rib cage. Its tail whipped around his flat belly, the beast’s open jaw in an embrace around the nape of Shane’s neck.

Oh, crap! Shane’s the real Big Bad!

And he summons his saltwater crocodile and charges into Greenhaven, attempting to steal the talismans. Olvan, Abeke, Rollan, and Conor fight him, but then … the battle is suddenly interrupted by Halawir the Godlike Eagle!

Let’s see how this encounter pans out…

Halawir: *casts Gust of Wind*

Everyone Who Isn’t Shane: *blown back by spell*

Shane: *takes McGuffins, hops on Halawir, leaves*

Olvan: It’s the All Is Lost Moment!

Okay, everyone … who saw that coming?

Stuff I Forgot to Mention Above:

Lenori comes equipped with a blowgun. Thanks to this, we can narrow down Lenori’s home to somewhere in not!South America.

Olvan comes equipped with a quarterstaff. Not quite the badass weapon I was expecting from our Teddy Roosevelt-esque leader of the Greencloaks.

Rollan is right handed.

Halawir is a golden eagle.

Next time: A plan is made.
